Hi guys! You may have noticed a bit of a lull on the blog recently, and I wanted to explain why and what to expect next!
Here’s What Happened
As many of you know, I struggle with depression. It got pretty bad last fall, so I decided to take a full break from work. Not like a half-assed break, but a true not-looking-at-emails or creating-content break. To be honest, I hadn’t taken a real break like that since I started blogging, which was back in 2010. Crazy, right?? I’d maybe take a week off, but this time I gave myself the time I needed to focus on my health. In fact, I didn’t work for about 5 months (which my bank account is super happy about by the way…).
If you need a break, take it!!
But I needed to get back to feeling like me so that I could actually live life the way I deserved to. And, you guys, it was so worth it. As much as I may have struggled financially through it, money comes and goes. But you need your health in order to do anything so that should always come first. And my hope is that this is a reminder to anyone who feels like they’re drowning. TAKE A BREAK. Life will continue and you won’t miss anything or fall behind, I promise! Put your mental & physical health first. You have to in order to serve anyone else or do anything at all.
Well, now we’re back! I’ve been feeling much better for a few months now, due to continuing therapy, adjusting my meds, and seeing a functional medicine doctor who completely changed my diet (more on that later!). I took a few months to get Advice from a 20 Something back up and running with a whole slew of new contributors (yay!), and now we’re doing the same for Advice from a 30 Something. So get ready for some much needed, down-to-earth, raw & authentic content people! Cuz it’s comin’!!!
