Secret Santa Gift Ideas For Every Price Point
posted on December 1, 2020 | by Megan Lierley
It’s that time of year again…! Somehow, we’ve shockingly made it to December, and thus the final month of this chaotic, sad, lonely year. And while this holiday season certainly doesn’t have the buzzing energy and jam-packed social calendar of Decembers past, I don’t know about you but I somehow still have four Secret Santa gift swaps (to be done over Zoom, of course) this year. I’m thankful for that small hint of normalcy, and it’s nice to deal with a problem that isn’t just COVID-induced: What to buy for that coworker, acquaintance, or even your best friend at a price point that won’t break the bank. Here are some of my favorites:
Secret Santa Gifts Under $20
At the <$20 price point, it’s hard to go wrong with a good book. One of your all-time favorites, one you think they’ll love, or one of the best books of 2020 (like Just Like You by Nick Hornby).
Other Ideas:
Tie-dye gloves (to go with the sweatsuit)
Set of 3 travel bottles(that won’t take up much room in her suitcase)
Glossier lip balm (my favorites are coconut and birthday)
Secret Santa Gifts Under $30
These cozy PJs are a steal and come in several colors. In a year that’s felt anything but comfortable, you really can’t go wrong with cozy gifts.
Other Ideas:
Bobbi Brown travel lip gloss set
A kit for growing her own lavender
Secret Santa Under $40
A fancy desk set for a work-from-home winter. (Also comes in pink.)
A card game for starting better conversations.
Midcentury modern throw blanket
Secret Santa Under $50
The Lunya sleep mask became my go-to early in the pandemic when 1) I wasn’t sleeping well and 2) I just wanted to add a bit of luxury to my routine because every day was Groundhog’s Day.
Other Ideas:
New York Times front page puzzle (I’d go for the day the Biden/Harris win was announced!)
Secret Santa Splurge
A gorgeous notebook (at a price point you probably wouldn’t spend on yourself but would be lovely to receive…and doesn’t that sometimes make for the best gift?) for when (s)he can travel again.
Other Ideas:
A weighted blanket (that’s actually only 27 cents over $50!)
The magical, non-stick Always Pan

And of course, at any price point, you can’t go wrong with donating to a favorite cause in their name, like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Black Mamas Matter, Human Rights Campaign, Climate Emergency Fund, or one of so many amazing other organizations doing good in the world.
