I honestly can’t remember loving a media platform as much as podcasts. It’s like reading without feeling sleepy, school without the boring lectures, and a talk show without having to watch TV. Walking and listening to one is part of my daily routine, and I even tune in while cleaning, driving, or even lounging in bed. I’m kiiiinda obsessed!
Podcasts came come in all forms – from self improvement, to entertainment, to business strategy, to figuring out life as a 30 something – which are the ones I want to share today. For those of you who need a little guidance during this decade (like moi), here are 5 podcasts that should help.
Nobody Told Me!
The headline kinda gives this one away, but can we all agree that at 30 something, we still have a LOT of learning to do? I feel confident in many ways, but I’m still learning (sometimes basic things) every day. This podcast is a mom-daughter duo which is cool, and they cover everything from ‘thank you’ cards to feeling like you can’t do anything. Such a good listen and I always learn something.
Happier
Gretchen Rubin (the creator) wrote one of my favorite books, The Happiness Project, and I’ve listened to this show for years. Her and her sister host this show together and provide simple, tactical tips for happiness – through friendships, self, having kids, etc. It’s quick, fun… and happy. Definitely good for days you’re in a rut or need a boost.
The Daily
I’ll admit that I hate the news, but I also feel like I should at least have somewhat of a grasp of what’s happening. The problem? The news feels dated, depressing, and kinda bull-shitty these days! Which is why I like The Daily. It’s a 20-minute show produced by The New York Times based on something big happening in our world. The journalism is top notch and it’s completely unbiased which I appreciate. I usually listen to this while making breakfast to start the day feeling super duper smart.
Almost 30
I’m 31 but I still feel like I’m 25 in many ways, so I very much relate to this podcast. And honestly, so much of what they talk about is surrounding #adulting, which is one of our categories for this site. So let’s just say I get a lot out of it. From exploring wellness trends to figuring out life, this show reminds me that not everyone has it together – and that’s totally cool.
The Skinny Confidential Him & Her
Lauryn has long been one of my favorite bloggers. I think she’s brilliant when it comes to building a business (especially a blog) and she also has great wellness/beauty/fitness/life tips. Her and her husband co-host this show and their banter is great – as are the guests. I’ll warn you, there are a lot of annoying ads, but you can skip through those on iTunes. I scroll through her episodes to find ones that intrigue me and delete the ones that don’t.
I also love Jenna Kutcher’s podcast (especially for small biz owners), Rise for motivation, and Lady Gang for some LOLs.
Your turn! What are your favorite podcasts for 30 somethings? Let me know!

I would like to add Forever35 to the list! Absolutely love it and am now totally obsessed. And you definitely don’t have to be 35 to enjoy it. Great for anyone who wants to get a dose of self-care.
