New Holiday Traditions: Our Bohemian Christmas Tree

This post has been sponsored by Nestlè Coffee Partners & Starbucks® Peppermint Mocha Latte K-Cup® pods. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Now that Jacob and I are officially married (woop woop!), it only feels right to start creating some of our own unique holiday traditions. I grew up in a Jewish household, so there were no Christmas trees in sight (though I used to beg my parents for a “Hanukkah bush”, whatever that is). And Jacob didn’t have a large family, so they changed up their holiday every year. Since we both didn’t grow up with very consistent traditions each year, it’s been super fun creating our own! They’re pretty simple, but they’re special to us :).

Tradition #1: Get Cozy & Make Coffee

The first step in our tradition is waking up on a slow weekend morning during the holidays, getting into our comfiest clothes, and making special holiday themed coffees. Since we use a Keurig, we’re not the most creative when it comes to whipping up our own coffee creations. So I’m super excited to have found the new Starbucks® Peppermint Mocha Latte K-Cup® pods at my local Safeway. They come with both K-Cup® pods and this yummy mocha latte mix that you add to create a yummy, creamy, chocolatey treat with hint of mint. SO good!!! (And if you prefer ground coffee, it comes in that as well, also at Safeway).

Sidenote: We’ve actually been using the Safeway mobile app recently to find great deals and discounts — have you ever tried it? It’s super easy to use!

Tradition #2: Music!

Once our Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Lattes are ready to go, we turn on some music. But not your typical Christmas music. We just go with a variety of songs that are special to us — often songs we played at our wedding. A yummy latte and good music? Is there anything better?

Tradition #3: Bohemian Christmas Tree

Clearly, the bohemian Christmas tree had to make the list. Since I didn’t grow up with a Christmas tree (where my Jews at?!), it sort of gives me more freedom to decorate the tree in ways that might not be super “normal”. And since that bohemian vibe tends to flow throughout my life in many ways, it only makes sense for it to take over our Christmas tree as well :).

To create the look, I suggest starting with unique string lights rather than your average Christmas lights. Fun gold lights in different shapes create a more eclectic vibe. As for the decor, think natural textures. Wooden beads, macrame ornaments, you get the picture! Have fun and make it your own :).

It’s been so fun creating our own little holiday traditions. From our festive morning coffee thanks to Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Lattes, to our unique tree decorations, these are the things that make the season special. What are some of your holiday traditions?? I’m always so curious about what everyone else does!
